Why Tickwright

Watchmaking That Earns Your Trust Before It Earns Your Business

Every decision we make at the bench comes back to one question: what is genuinely right for this watch and for its owner?

What You Can Expect from Every Engagement

Written Condition Note

A document describing what was found and what was done accompanies every watch returned from the bench. No verbal summaries, no guesswork.

One Watch at a Time

We do not process watches in batches. Each piece receives dedicated bench time from the same technician, start to finish.

Pre-Approved Scope

We agree the scope of every job in writing before touching a watch. Additional work found during disassembly is discussed before proceeding.

Timing Machine Verification

Every reassembled mechanical movement is tested on a timing machine in multiple positions. Results are included in the service paperwork.

Digital Service Records

Collector programme clients receive a maintained digital file with photographs and notes from every service, forming a permanent history of their piece.

Clear Communication

We respond to enquiries within one business day and keep owners informed at each stage of a job. There are no unexplained delays.

Professional Expertise

More Than a Decade on the Bench

The technicians at Tickwright have worked on mechanical timepieces across a wide range of calibres — from common automatic movements to vintage hand-winding watches that require careful sourcing of parts. This depth of experience means that unusual or older watches are handled with the same assurance as contemporary models.

  • Mechanical, automatic and quartz movements
  • Vintage calibre handling with appropriate care
  • Swiss and Japanese calibre familiarity
  • Specialist parts sourcing where required

Workshop Equipment

The Right Tools, Used Correctly

Equipment matters in watchmaking, but so does knowing how to use it. Our ultrasonic cleaning bath removes residue from movement parts without damaging delicate surfaces. The timing machine allows us to verify that a reassembled movement runs within an acceptable daily rate across multiple positions before it is returned.

  • Ultrasonic parts cleaning
  • Multi-position timing machine
  • Water-resistance pressure testing
  • Digital photographic documentation

A Process Designed Around the Owner

  • Response within one business day
  • Proactive updates if anything changes
  • No surprises on the final invoice
  • Knowledgeable staff able to answer technical questions

What Sets Us Apart

Distinctive Features of Our Workshop

Permanent Service Documentation

Unlike a verbal handover at collection, every watch leaving Tickwright is accompanied by written records. For collector programme clients, these accumulate into a proper history file with photographs from each service.

Owner-Controlled Restoration Scope

We do not decide unilaterally how far to take a restoration. The owner reviews and approves an itemised plan and can adjust the scope at any point before work proceeds.

Unhurried, Realistic Timelines

We give realistic estimates and hold to them. One to two weeks for a standard service is a considered timeline, not a placeholder. Owners are contacted promptly if anything changes.

Bangkok-Based, No Overseas Shipping

Many Bangkok watch owners send pieces overseas for servicing, accepting delays and handling risks. Tickwright provides the same standard of bench work here, with direct communication throughout.
